Can't decide keep my SS/plat yachtie or get SS daytona

OKay, so my awsome AD can get me a new SS daytona for 10k like now, which is not bad, I wish i could get list for these but I just cant in california.

Anyways, my thing is should I sell my 16622(plat ym) and sell my panerai to get one daytona? What do you guys thinks? Man I just bought the YM 4 months ago, man i hate this disease.

Anything else like TT I get 20-30% off and I for myself can even get XX% off SS subs no tax. But not the SS daytona...but on TT is a different story.
BTW hes getting like 5 new SS GMT 2 and hes giving 2 to me at msrp no tax, but he shitng his boss is going to put a premium on these like the LV and Daytona. Let me know if you guys need any. He will ship it to you guys with no tax out of state. I can't disclose the discounts here but pm me if you guys need watches.

i woud not pay over list - $7,900, for ss daytona, especially from AD. Mine here in Memphis just got one in, white dial, he has it on hold for a guy, first two on list past due to finances, new baby, etc, so i am #2 on list just because i walked in to look at the new SS GMT, also for sale at list.
like you, i would probably have to part with a watch to close this deal, in my case a sub date. i am fairly certain i would regret that decision if i did it, flip the daytona, and end up trolling for a sub again.

personally, i dont think i can live without a date function....
it is entirely up to you but i wouldnt flip a 4 months old YM ...i just think the hype of ss daytona is a lil much for what it is.....

let us know what you decide

NEVER pay over list. I have no problem paying MRSP, but not over.

The YM is an uncommon watch to see and is tastefull. The Daytona is appealing for collectors, Do you want a watch colllection or a watch to wear? Be careful as it is a natural desire to get all the Rolex watches you can. I wear a ss/p YM during the day and yg dd Presidential in the evening and at business meetings. The more watches you have, the more money, real money, you have sitting in your watch drawer.

With this decision, you're heading down the collector's path. Be careful, and best wishes.

The ss white Daytona is awesome.I guess,MSRP would be brilliant, but $10k seems a bit harsh.

The situation on the ss Daytona's is, shall we say .... unfortuanate.

I wouldn't do it. You'll be losing two great watches and paying too much for another.

Keep the watches you have. The SS Daytona is overpriced (above MSRP) and quite frankly a lot of the "buzz" on this watch is just because it's not readily available.

The buzz is not only about the artificially greated scarceity. Its also about the fact that it is a beautiful design. This overpriced scarceity, with waiting lists and AD blackmail,is very unforuanate.

Don't enable these sellers by paying these inflated prices. I say boycott anything over MSRP.

"No" vote for me. I think the YM is a beautiful watch by itself.

Hey thanks A LOT guys!!! everyones answer really really made my mind up.
Ive always thought NEVER pay over MSRP and then I was thinking damn...if i cant get one at MSRP then wat the heck am I suppose to do right, and so thats why I was even considering it. Thanks everyone for your opinions.

MMRolex....No im not a collector collector to collect vintage or rare...I would just like to own a couple of different rolexs and not just one you know what I mean.

supermarz and MMRolex...because it is uncommon and tastefull is the exact reason I bought the watch.

KansaiVet...dude we should boycott that damn watch.

There is a LOT of "buzz" on the watch and I have to admint, thats probably one of the main reasons I want the watch. Its more rarer..less common..and when you see a daytona on the streets its like...its like damn I wonder how long he waited or paid for that one...hahaha
You know it is one of the higher end rolex.

But its diffinetly hard to justify $10k on 1 watch.

If you want a SS Daytona that bad, then buy pre-owned. You'll pay iver MMSRP, but not $10,000.

Ive had my SS Daytona for over 5 years. I paid over list. Had I waited to buy at MSRP, I'd probably still be waiting. I've enjoyed the watch for many years and have no regrets. Some people have waited years to get one at MSRP, only to fnd they have waited through two or more substantial price increases. Any issues abut the date function pale in comparison to the enjoyment of wearing a SS Daytona. Do what you want.

I sold my SS YM to buy another watch. Though I miss the YM at times, I like the watch I bought better.

My suggestion:
Sell the panerai and buy a white expII
In this case you keep the yachtmaster and you add a sporty white face rolly at minimum expense

10K for a SS Daytona, that's not an awesome AD . I wouldn't pay more than MSRP.

The Daytona is awesome but to give up your watches is a lot to give up and what about the hit you'll take. You won't get what you paid for those, add that to the $10k.
