I am a big fan of the Ploprof 1200 both as an everyday casual watch and because of it's place in the history of dive watches.
I owned a Ploprof 1200 about 2 years ago and loved it but I was made an offer that I could not refuse to sell it! It is great to have one in my collection again.
I like the way it looks on the oem orange rubber strap although I plan to wear it on the oem mesh bracelet. The Ploprof replaced the Rolex SDDS that I was wearing everyday.

Always have a soft spot for the PloProf 1200. Came close a couple o times getting it, but have been "unsuccessful" to date

I always thought this watch looked very weird but the more I see the more I like it. Congratulations and wear it in good health.

By the way, for the first time I really can't decide which bracelet looks better...I think you'll have to buy another in order to please me!

It is one fugly watch. And I dig it!!! :-)

I was very close to pulling the trigger on one, it is a very unique piece with a special vibe. I highly suggest getting a 24mm Isofrane to it as well. It is close to 300 gr on the mesh which is a tad much to EDC IMO.

Also, the Ploprof is certainly a more interesting and original piece of hardware than the Deepsea. Well done.

Two reasons:

Makes it easier for someone right handed to press on the bezel unlock button with their middle finger and turn the bezel with thumb and forefinger
Prevents the crown being caught/snagged on lines or cables when working at depth or it getting banged into anything, causing shock or damage to the movement as it is intended for use as a professional dive watch and will take heavy abuse (or at least the original 600 was, before it became cool).

I just learned that the Ploprof 1200m, with its Calibre 8500 and everything, doesn't have a date quick-set??!?! Can someone please confirm that?

If so, it might be a deal-breaker for me as I would certainly wear the watch on rotation and having to forward (2 x 12 hrs) x how many days one would need seems overly complicated and tedious.

It doesn't have the traditional quickset, where the date wheel flips constantly, the hour hand instead can be rotated independently of the minutes and seconds without it hacking, so you rotate the hour hand twice for each date change. Slightly slower than traditional quickset, but still 60X faster than the non quickset on something like my 1680 sub.

I love mine. I prefer the different rubber straps though. Mainly white in summer and black in winter and Orage for Chcago Bears games.
