Icon3 Navigating in the world of Panerai

Hello all -

I'm new to Panerai and I'm on the hunt for one but the model numbers are a bit daunting. I've been browsing the forums (here and all over) and I'm narrowing my search to a Radiomir. I like the way it fits but I really want one with shiny metallic hands (steel or gold) or a Cali dial.

Does anyone have a reference site with models made in the last handful of years? Having them all in one spot would be handy (wristy?)

Thanks.

chris

If you have an IPad there is a nice app with a catalog that shows the models. Also, try here.

Good luck!

Welcome buddy... Rad are great... and you will get a lot of enjoyment out of it and the various straps that can change the way it looks completely. Here is a quick and dirty summary and you can look up the scans on line:

Regular production and relative entry level priced(5-6k area i think):

These are all 45mm in size:
PAM 210 sandwich dial... nothing on dial except 3-6-9-12 simple and great
PAM 183 sandwich dial.. has mini second counter in the 9 position
PAM 287 painted dial.. its just like 183 but it was a date with magnifying glass
PAM 380 painted dial .. has mini second counter in the 9 position and panerai logo

Limited edition(9-12K area I think) if you can find them pending on condition:

PAM 190 sandwich dial with mini second counter.. gold hands 45mm
PAM 249 Cali dial 47mm
PAM 232 like 210 but 47mm and gold hands

Good luck with your search!

Fred

The more I look the more I change my mind! Now I want a 359! This is madness . . . I never had this "problem" with a Rolex. I wonder what the Occupy Wall Street folks would think of my tough decision?

this link is quite handy - it should give you most of the model ref and pic.
