Something I found amazing was that Omega produced a production chronometer that achieved flawless timing at the COSC in the 1970s (1976 I think). It was a 1000 series calibre that scored 0.00 deviation in all categories. Unfortunately by that time there was no "competition" in results and no scoring based on performance.

When tuned properly the 1000 series can achieve quartz like accuracy. I know a technician who worked for Omega during that period and he speaks of those calibres as being astonishing, so accurate that they defy belief. Even he didn't think it was possible but saw a client's watch that only deviated 1-2 seconds per month.
