My new Chicky Speedy Olympic Specialty watch came today! 3836.70.36 - photo heavy
Going to be my daily beater most days in all years that end with an even number (but I'm going to start early for the 2012 Olympics and begin tomorrow)!
SO love the special box. And it came with a special little Olympic book discussing Olympics up to 2006 and a 'how to care for your watch' book. The only thing that's a bummer (cause I am a silly girl) is the Olympic rings are on the end of the stopwatch and not the second hand. (Of COURSE you all knew that, but I liked it for the Olympic stuff, not the chronometer stuff.) I think I'm going to keep that hand pointed at 4:30 so the rings show off near 11 o'clock. We'll see if that hinders my ability to tell the time, or if I get used to it. Its also interesting that the face is mother of pearl, same as my Rolex is, but they're SO different. Omega's looks very flat without personality, but it probably makes this busy watch easier to read, which I appreciate. My Rolex's MOP face has natural waves and bumps the way the oyster made it. And the side view is so different. I never knew Speedy's looked like a spaceship from the side! And I love the very lumy main arms. WAY better lume than my Aqua Terra. And even though this is a BNIB watch from the Omega Boutique, I wonder how long its been sitting there. They made these since 2005. Can anyone tell me a shortcut for an O serial? And I know I am mean to my Omegas. I take the pretty straps off and put leather straps with holes and regular buckles on. COMFORT is my middle name! So, don't faint when you get to the end of the new pics and see the new strap I put on it. For my own giggles I took a pic of both my 36mm Omegas on their different rally straps together. Cheers! And I loved it for the colors and the Olympic stuff so I'm Woo Hoo! And would YOU wear a white leather band daily??? OMG recipe for disaster I say! I might change out the band for other colors from time to time and maybe even get a cheap white one someday, but I wouldn't want to mutilate the original Omega deployment strap. You ever see a BLUE rally band anywhere, send me a PM cause that's what I'd REALLY like to wear daily. (Cause I'm also an LA Dodgers fan and I bleed blue.) Cheers! Suzy |
