Disappointed ...

I recently purchased an OEM antique brown croc strap for my PAM 000, which has been rotated with the rubber strap maybe 10 times, max. Last night I went to change back to the croc strap and one of the pins continuously rotates when I try to secure the screw. So maybe the screw or lug is stripped?? I have been very careful when changing the straps so this is pretty disappointing ... especially considering it is not convenient for me to take this to the AD for his evaluation. Has this happened to any of you before? Just curious, thanks.

obvious question- are you using the screw tubes?

and best solution- buy one of those replacement quick release sping bars made for panerai that 'look' like screw bars (panatime has a ton of them). They're awesome, cheap, stay on better, easier to change, and do not risk stripping out the lugs :)

Thank you for the advice. I was not even familiar with the screw tubes ... I assume I am using them if they come with the watch but will check when I get home. Will also check out panatime. Thanks again, much appreciated.

yeah, don't know if you already checked, but panerai only gives one set of tubes per watch, even if it comes with two sets of bands, so you have to remove the tubes from the original band and thread it into the new one before using it.

As said, check with panatime.com to buy additional tubes at a rather fair price !
I own 2 pannies, and about a dozen of straps, so I bought tubes and buckle at panatime. This way, no need to interchange things between straps !

That's odd! My N series PAM 000 had the tubes in both the black leather strap and the rubber strap.

The original packaging from the AD had the tubes. I ordered an OEM antique brown croc strap from my AD, which did not come with the tubes. After inserting the tubes, the screw is still unsecure, so I am going to take it to my AD. I assume the screw just needs to be replaced but we'll see.
