SS Submariner with Diamond Inserts on Dial?

Just purchased my first Rollie few months ago (SS/Plat yachtmaster) and feeling the itch for a PAM as a 2nd, but couple weeks ago seen my supervisor's YG Submariner with 8 diamond inerts on the dial. I like it except the YG (think its too bling for 30 year old), looked good on him (mid 50's). He picked it up used.

Just wondering if it is a factory option. Could I order a SS Sub black dial with 8 diamond inserts? Local AD said he can't get it.

Thanks..

Yeah, your AD is actually telling the honest to god's truth. You cannot get a SS submariner with a diamond dial. Only in two-tone finishes. I'm assuming all gold or all white gold come in serti dial too, but not 100% positive.

The White Gold Submariner is available with a diamond dial indeed, I saw one in my Rolex brochure they gave me at an AD I visited!

Eric, if you want to buy an aftermarket dial you can always take a look but I don't believe these are very common (usually you'll see those on DJ's and DD's), perhaps you could see if someone sells an original dial for one of those Serti Subs and put it on your SS but I don't know if you'll be able to find one around...

The problem with an aftermarket piece is that Rolex will take it off if you send your watch to RSC for a service. You should think about that if you're considering them to have your watch serviced every once in a while.
