Can't help you with the ultrasonic cleaner topic....never owned one.
I can say the Berg 6825-pf is hands down the best tool to remove bracelets, it prevents any marks to the case. |

perhaps put some masking tape on the underside of the lugs to prevent the spring bars from causing any scratches.

For what you need one of the $30/40ish ones will do a great job. The more expensive ones have heaters, more cavitation and turbo features - all for tough cleaning as fast as possible. Mine cost $33.00 and it does a great job. If the bracelet is really dirty just run it through twice - also you can just put in hand hot water. You can dilute most solutions 40 to 1. You don't have to have solution. Look at GemOro as a starter.
For taking off a bracelet you need a fine fork spring bar remover - lots out there to choose from.

If your only goal is bracelets and jewelry, just pop into a Bed, Bath & Beyond, they sell the concentrate and the Ultrasonic Cleaners. (Not sure if they have this chain of stores in Canada).
However, if you ever plan on servicing the insides of your watches you will need a professional Ultrasonic upwards of $300.00. |

If you use an ultrasonic, you might try "Formula 409" in the tank. Probably the best cleaner I've used. Go to WalMart or someplace & buy it in the bulk container. Mix it about 1-3 with water.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I am correct in assuming that the idea is to clean the bracelet in an ultrasonic cleaner after removing it from the watch?

Bought a sonic cleaner for my wife's jewelry and my bracelets. Sonic cleaner brand like $35 from Amazon. Amazing the gunk that comes off your jewelry and bracelet in just 4 minutes time. The pieces look amazing. Cleaned watches with bracelets. They give a bracket that holds the watch head out of the water.

Jeez, just wear it into the shower (it is water-resistant, you know) and give it a quick washing with shampoo; cleans all the gunk out of the bracelet and leaves it all squeaky clean...

As far as I know nothing short of a complete tear down of the bracelet will clean the gunk that has attached itself to the internals, like the link pins and the inside walls of the pin holes, as well as a good ultrasonic bath.
