Rolex questions for a new buyer.
Hi,
I am new to luxury watches and looking to purchase a rolex. Before I start I wanted to check with everyone on some questions. Some of them I already know the answers but figured just to be safe better check. 1. Is there a price list for the various models that I can access? I know online there are prices but some do not seem to be accurate as it shows large discounts. 2. I checked rolex.com and seem to remember seeing some models that were not on the site. Do they have models that are discontinued or modified? 3. My wife would like to get a matching pair (wedding gift), anyone know if there is a male and female set? 4. I’m looking to purchase the watch at Ben Bridge. Does anyone know if Rolexes ever go on sale? Doubt this but who knows :) Thank you! |

Welcome to the Forum..
There are some MSRP pricelists that circulate occassionally, but Rolex does not print one for the public; and they vary from country to country.. The Rolex site is not a catalogue, they do not have every model available there.. There are some models that have a smaller ladies counterpart but they don't come in "sets" Ben Bridge is a very large Rolex Dealer... However, I have never heard of a Rolex Watch sale, although they may offer a discount on some models...

http://www.timekeeperforum.com/2011_...price_list.pdf 2. Yes models are discontinued but often still available through ADs or trusted sellers here 3. Matching pair I personally would recommend matching DateJusts (28mm, 31mm and 36mm) or matching YachtMasters (29mm, 35mm and 40mm). Or if she is into bigger watches you can always get matching Subs, Daytonas, GMTs... which seems to be a big trend among Hollywood actresses. 4. I don't think they really go on sale. Usually you can get ADs to knock off 10-20% off of MSRP depending on the model. Hope that helps, good luck!! *** Edit: Oops Tools beat me to it and is a much better source than I am. |

what does vintage refer to? when I think of vintage, I think of used, but it doesn't seem that is the case.

Think Certified Pre-Owned for newer watches,
just like a fine used BMW! :wale: |

Are there any steel watches with the president band? This is my favorite band but it seems to only come in platinum or some sort of gold.

My experience with Ben Bridge is that they discount a lot less that other smaller family owned jewelers, since they are a much larger chain. You should be able to get 10-20% off depending on the model.
