Trying to figure out my end link issue...
Hi all. I'm a bit new here. I did purchase my GMT II from this site, so thank you for that. I know what I'm about to say will make no sense, and I get it. My GMT II came with the oyster bracelet and an extra jubilee with end links for both.
I just purchased two 16013 datejusts, identical to each other. Don't ask. I converted one to a white gold/stainless model for my wife, again, don't ask, it's what she wanted. The watch looks great but it came with no bracelet. So, since I have the extra jubilee for the GMT II and the lugs are both 20mm, I would think I could use the jubilee from the GMT II for the DJ. Eh, no. And I assume the issue is the end links. While they technically fit in between the lugs, they are too spread out (top to bottom) and I don't want to take a pair of pliers and ruin them to get them to fit. It also appears that even when I did make the attempt, only one end of the spring bar seemed to fit into the case. I'm thinking I can still use the jubilee bracelet itself, but will need to find the correct end links to use it. Does that make any sense at all? Sorry if I appear a bit dim, but I'm not used to making things work when they might not. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks David |

Also, the jubilee I have now is marked 62510H with 550 end links. I think I might need 555 end links? Anyone know if this is correct and/or where they can be purchased?

Thanks AZ. I think that the last link before the end link might also come onto play on this issue. I'm annoyed because the watch came out beautifully but she can't wear it!

You say you have got a GMT 2 with a bracelet 62510H and endlinks 550.
These endlinks correspond to GMT 16750, not GMT 2 16760 nor 16710. For your 16013 you would need end links 455. Problem is that your DJ watch 16013 as well as the endlinks 455 are rolesor SS/YG, where your jubilee 62510H is SS. You effectively better need to find endlinks 555 like for a SS DJ (16000 for example). |

Thanks TT. That's what is appears to need, the 555 end links because I switched out all the gold pieces on the watch. I'm sure I've destroyed the value of the watch by doing so, but at least I did buy a genuine Rolex White gold bezel and crown. Admittedly I bought aftermarket hands and a white date wheel. I figure I'll keep the old pieces that I took off in the event I ever need to reconvert it back to gold/ss. I did install a sapphire crystal and it actually looks great.
I think that the jubilee band in question might have come off a different watch. I know the watch is a 16710 (it's marked with a white sticker on the side of the box and it's also a sticker on the outside of the warranty papers). I'm sure it originally came on an oyster band, which I generally use anyway. Thanks for the advice, any ideas on where I can get the end links easily? |
