I'd choose either the Sub or Daytona.

Good luck!

As you have already decided on Rolex, the rest will depend on the model you like to own, budget you got now and if the watch is going to be a new or vintage.

Whatever, you finally decide, upload pictures once you get it! Good luck!

No matter which one you choose, you'll have more to come in the not so far future

You should start with the SS Sub-C LN, it makes a great first Rolex.

Go try each one on. Spend 30 minutes looking at them. Ask your AD
whatever you may want to know! Go with your gut!

All the ones you mentioned would make a great choice. You really should get the one that you like the most first as you will tend to be happier than if we picked it for you.

I personally would get a Sub or GMT for my first one though, and this is exactly what I did.

I have since acquired a few more.

The first question I would ask myself is, How dressy a watch do I want? If you dress up a lot, suits & such a DJ II would be my choice. If a casual clothes wearer, I really like the GMT II. In reality either will work at a pinch. You should definitely put them all on your wrist & see which speak to you. I envy your endeavour, it is so much fun choosing, as long as you don;t end up with the wrong one. Good luck, and let us know what you end up with.

I would go with the black Sub-C. Will look good no matter what you are doing and is a keeper. Once you learn the brand you can pick-up another in Gold or TT. Just my thoughts.

GMT IIc. Not just the best watch that Rolex makes today, I would argue that is the most versatile watch in the world right now - a true masterpiece!

I will try and help, all are great choices, all depends on your needs and budget.

Daytona, the chronograph. A grail in many peoples eyes. It doesn't have a date though.
Sub, the classic divers watch.
Deep sea, if you are a big fella with big wrists.
GMT, good if you travel a lot and like to have 2/3 timezones showing.
Datejust, the classic dressy watch. Is the smallest at 36mm but great choice of dials and 2 bracelets.

Since your interests cover a very broad range, something tells me you are going to wind up owning all of them eventually, so you might as well pick one that fits your budget now and start saving immediately for the next and the next and the next....

All of the above make great first Rolex. I would lean towards a Sub, GMT or Daytona as you might find the DSSD too large--especially if you wear cuffs at work! I would go try them on though and get the one that sings to you most. Taste is quite subjective and everyone has their own likes--so find yours!!

get a sub C, daytona, or GMT iiC IN STAINLESS STEEL!!!.....why? so if you ever decide you want another model over the three i recommended but dont have the funds or means to do that, just sell your first piece you will get back a significant portion of what you spent on it

Submariner
GMT
Exp I & II
Stainless Steel models

they are affordable, never go out of fashion, most popular, easy to sell later models

Not that you're planning on resale just yet, but it "seems" that subs keep their value for a long time and often go up in value depending on when it was purchased.

+1 I've bought many other Rolexs trying to avoid the standard "but everybody owns one!" Submariner....but after picking one up, I get it.

I love it enough that I bought the LV this week
