GMT Master II repair $ costs.

I sent my watch in to Rolex for service and repair. The second hand would not wind? What do you think it will or should cost? The dealer said around $600.00. That is for there basic service etc then parts if necessary.

Thanks. Maybe it will just need some adjustment and nothing new. Is the service as good as they say?? The cleaning etc. ?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "second hand will not wind" ??

Still, generally a service will include expendibles like the Great wheel, mainspring, rotor axles and so on... Unless it's quite old and never been maintained at all, it shouldn't need much more..

Dont feel bad, I am a new owner too. Mine was givein to me in pretty rough shape. It barely kept track of time, but a shake here and there would fix it. Now it clunks with a shake, and does not keep time at all. I am envious of your 650, I have a feeling mine is going to be much more :( A very nice fellow on here quoted me 350-500 to get er done, but I think I have a problem child lol. I dont have the money to fix it, but if I left it with them and came in to pay on it every 2 weeks, I could maybe work it like that if they arent too snobish here in town. Even tho it doesnt tell time for beans, I still love my watch.. and I have no choice but to get it fixed, no one wants a busted watch lol.

Edit:

Well if they do all of that dureing maintenace like in the post above mine, then heck yeah thats a wicked deal lol. Have you ever seen the inside of one of these? its pretty intense!

One reason that AD's (or most others) quote a full service, even though they haven't looked inside your watch, is that by the time they try to trouble shoot the movement, then reassemble the watch, they've spent a bunch of labor. Without really knowing what is wrong with a malfunctioning Rolex, just doing the service fixes a lot of little problems. If you're lucky, your watch's problem is one of those little things. Even if it isn't, often they've done most of the labor already and adding a part or two is only the cost of the parts.

Just purchased a Gmt coke 16710. It was recently serviced by Rolex and replaced almost everything except the case and the band. Cost was $1500. Well worth it because it looks good as new. There service is second to none. You'll be amazed how good it will look when it's done.

You have a winding crown and thats what is used to wind your watch, around 40 full crown turns clockwise to fully wind it.
