Historically, has there ever been a SS Blue Sub?
I really love the color of the new 116603LB Sub (I thought the 16603 blue was too dark), but don't really "need" the TT bracelet.
A blue version of the LV would be perfect, but I can wish for whatever I want. So while trying to decide between a 116603LB and a 116710LN GMT IIc as my only Rolex, I thought I'd check if Rolex had ever offered something like a blue version of the SS Sub LV. I can come up with a few hundred reasons why the SS GMT IIc is the better choice for me, except for the gasp I feel myself making whenever I look at the Sub C Blue. Or should I get the SS GMT IIc and drop another $78 at Amazon instead? Thanks in advance… |

NO SS blue, you could try and find an SS blue Tudor.

There was indeed a blue SS Sub. It was only released in the Japanese market and there are pictures on the web (and threads on this forum) of it.

Drat… neither is a really good solution for someone in the US who'd prefer to buy new from an AD.
Well… except for the Invicta purchase at Amazon. |

There was a blue version of the 1680 sub with black dial way back when.

If you have a lot of budget you could buy a SS Sub, a blue dial and a WG blue bezel to replace the black ones on the watch, wouldn't that work?
Otherwise the Tudor would do just fine (in my humble opinion at least), it sure is a nice watch!

Funny this topic came along when it did for me...have been thinking about the same thing, I really like the WG blue sub but find it too expensive. Perhaps I can acquire a blue Tudor in the near future...

Love the Shark look. Blue bezel on black dial. Interesting to see they once made that combo. Wish they would do so again.

Rolex never made the Shark, Xelor63 was the first to do the mod

Blues the best, they should make a blue dial/bezel SS sub, it would be very popular

Part of the reason I went for a WG Sub was the fact that it's the only watch in the Rolex range that has the blue dial and blue bezel. Whilst I like Steve's Shark and ,as someone else has mentioned, there was a blue bezel 1680 way back when, but to add the blue dial and blue bezel to a SS Sub is really going too far and in effect just poor imitation.......
