Rolex Sub 116610 - hour markers?
Are the hour markers on the new 116610 sub trimmed with white gold? I heard that the GMT has gold trimming around the hour markers.

Yep - all metallic markers on Rolex dials (as well as hands) are made from 18ct gold

![]() ![]() I think on the SS watches like subs and GMT's that the markers and hands are made from SS also..... I could be wrong though... ![]() |

The domed bezels are indeed Stainless.. The fluted bezels are Gold.. However, neither has anything to do with the dials, hands, and hour markers, which are always white or yellow gold and have been for a couple of decades.. ![]()

So Larry, just to clarify, the Rolex 116610 sub in full stainless has white gold hands and hour markers? And also all the other stainless Rolexes have white gold hands and hour markers even if they have a domed bezel?

Until Larry gets back, that is the case, as I understand it and I've seen it confirmed here and elsewhere many times.

You know, the one thing I have learned on this forum is that our AD's know so much less about these watches than we do

Just as it's stated on Rolex's website... the Sub's bezel numerals and markings are either Yellow Gold or Platinum.

Back then, and during the changeover, Rolex watches are marked with "-T Swiss T-" for steel markers, and "oT Swiss To" for gold markers.. However, once all the models became uniform, those markings were dropped..

![]() It's very hard to verify the details more discerning customers want to know - however, I am aware that Rolex is currently in the process of changing the system, and I expect in the next 12-24 months we will be seeing the emergence of a fully fledged training programme for salespeople. It ain't easy being as good as the folks here on TRF expect ![]() ![]() |

I read (from TRF) that even the markers and hands for Polar Exp II are white gold painted black.
