Bond 23 aka SkyFall watch update

Hello everyone,

This is my first offical post though I have been following the forum for about a year.

I was recently in NYC and went into the Omega store to look at watches and talk shop.

Looking at the new Planet Oceans sparked a conversation about Daniel Craig visiting the store last week and purchasing an Aqua Terra for himself and one for his wife for the holiday season.

This is no confirmation, but would suggest that, a strong relationship with Omega continues.

Hope that people find this info interesting, I know that I did.

Seems doubtful he would have to purchase omega watches in a boutique doesn't it?

I agree that it may be a PR thing.

Definitely! Why would an Omega ambassador have to purchase his own watches??? All watch ambassadors get a lot of watches to wear around for free.

He seems to just be a fan of quality watches in general. Though he's currently an Omega ambassador, he's been know to wear both Rolex and Omega watches (and others) prior to his ambassador status. In fact, the Milgauss GV model (my first Rolex purchase which I will be picking up a week from today) first came to my attention via a picture of one on Mr. Craig's wrist.

Non-WIS owners aren't as die-hard about brands as you or I might be. Though it's possible this was a stunt, it's equally possible he was just continuing the watch purchasing habits he already had prior to becoming an ambassador.

Who knows if he really was in the store?

Because a salesperson said so?

From what I know by speaking to the staff at Bond street Boutique in London he visits there and buys his Omega watches from that store, so I dont think he gets freebies from Omega at all. it seems he genuinely does like omega watches

Maybe he gets reimbursed for them, but has to submit the receipts? That way the stores get some celebrity buzz and he gets his freebies.

I don´t know about the store or purchase, but he does wear an Omega Aqua Terra.
I believe it is the old version with caliber 2500, as it has a blue dial with white date.
He could have bought the old model himself, as he would probably be given a new caliber 8500 model for promotion.

There are rumors that says he will wear an Agua Terra in the new Bond movie. If this is true, he could be wearing a new prototype blue dial AT with caliber 8500. This happened in Casino Royale, where he was given a prototype 2220.80.00, as it was not in production when they were filming.

I believe it is the old 2500 model, because of the white date.
The newest 4 models from Omega with blue dial all had black date discs (DeVille Hour Vision, Aqua Terra Chronograph London 2012, New James Bond model, New Planet Ocean Liquidmetal). A new 8500 AT probably would have a black date disc also.

I read an interview a while back, where he says that he doesn´t collect watches, he just enjoys them. I don´t think he is a die-hard fan of any brand, probably just wears what he likes.

He also wears a Speedmaster LE, this picture is from before he became ambassador
