PAM288...your thoughts

I have a PAM288 that I'm thinking of purchasing from a friend and I'd like to know what you folks think about this particular model. I'm very happy with my PAM000 because I like the traditional Panerai shape with the crown protector but the PAM288 is a chronograph after all.

I did some research and it seems that the PAM288 comes in calibre XII and XIX...which one is better?

when i think of panerai, i don't think of chronographs, so, in that sense, i would pass and pick up a different RAD (232, 190, 337, 338, 249....).
