Any thoughts?

I recently bought a preowned GMT ll, 16710TLN, F series. Needless to say I am very happy with it. I took it go the RSC in Manhattan to get the band adjusted and they did an estimate for servicing, seeing how it runs a little fast. They told me there is some impact damage (seems it may have been dropped sometime in the 8 years before I got it. Can you imagine?), Bezel is scratched and dented, Monobloc crown is dented, smudge and debris on dial, Bezel insert scratched, some dents (not visible to the naked eye), scratches and nicks on the case . . . To have everything fixed, regulated and serviced will cost me around $800. I can send it back to where I bought it and they'll regulate it because it does come with a one year warranty, but I don't know if they will service it as thoroughly as Rolex will. And Rolex will give me a two year warranty. I'm kind of leaning towards having it completely overhauled at the RSC. Sure, it's $800, but it will bring it back to "like new" specs.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thank you . . .

RSC is the safe bet.

That said, I am a strong believer in developing a relationship with a watchmaker. There are many qualified and competent watchmakers. No shipping, less waiting, and you can tell them exactly what you want done or not done. Here is a thread of independents by TRF members. In http://rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=32666

I tend to agree too......RSC is your best bet.
having it completely overhauled at the RSC.
using $800 and it will bring it back to life "like new" again.
