The DDII in Perspective

We see so many macro shots of our watches. Here are 2 pictures from a little further out.

Whether close up or far away, that watch looks sweet.

Thank you both. The wife uses a 'decorator' - pricey, but very worth it.

Guess this dispels the notion that the DD can only be worn dressed up. I think it looks great with jeans.

Thanks. Mine is the larger DDII variant, but if you search for Ron Pearlman's 'Clay' in Sons of Anarchy, you can see a HUGE dude wearing a YG DD with jeans and no sleeves - it works, but maybe that's cause he looks like he could kick your ass in a second.

Somehow the DD II fits better on my 7.75" wrist than a DD.

Great perspective. Thanks!

Thank you, Dino. The funny part is that you've seen and like the actual million-dollar, fully-iced Rolexes. I can't wait for you to get and enjoy your gold model, whether 18k sub or DDII or whatever - it feels so gratifying to wear a chunk of solid gold on your wrist.

I agree!!! I do believe the year of 2012 will be the year one of my grails will be achieved! I'm hoping for either a White or Yellow Gold Sub-C.. Or a DDII...

I see a precious metal watch as more of a "jewel" as apose to a timepiece.. I envy you!!

You definitely made the right choice with the DD II!

How much does that watch weigh? Also does it scratch every time you look at it? I would probably have to walk around with a cape codd cloth in my pocket if I owned it. I just love mirror fresh gold.

It is actually quite heavy - I am constantly aware of the huge chunk of metal on my wrist. I do, however, find that to be quite a bit of the allure of the watch, as I am aware that the metal is gold. I believe that only the DDII in platinum is heavier in all of Rolex's lineup, and I'm fairly sure I saw the YG DDII listed at 220 gm or thereabouts, but perhaps someone can post up the detailed info.

With regards to scratching, I don't really notice much. It does smudge a little, but is easily wiped clean. I also do try not to bang it into things, but I wasn't terribly accident prone before the hunk of metal came along.

Thank you, sir. I always like to point out how instrumental you were in helping with this choice. I find this to be the perfect watch for me!

The Gold Yachtmaster II(not new TT)is one heavy watch--I believe it is 290 grams if not mistaken. Nice watch--glad you are enjoying it!
Ps--Nice rug and chair!

Yes, I believe the list I saw may have been incomplete, and I can no longer find it.
