I think I need service
My one year old GMT-II has stopped running when it isn't actually on my wrist. It will shut down for an hour or more at night, even though it has gotten a full day's worth of movement on my wrist. I have tried winding it too, but that doesn't help.
So I need to get it checked out. I live in the Philadelphia area, should I go to the local A or send it to Rolex in New York. I imagine it should be under warranty, so should that play into my decision on where to get it checked out? |

Sometimes once it's low wrist movement isn't enough.
Interesting it doesn't stop when your wearing it just over night... WIND It 40 times or so and then wear it and store overnight...bet it doesn't stop? If it does than yes ship it of to Rolex. I'm betting a year old Rolex is fine unless you've dropped it or something? |

Haven't dropped it, have tried winding it 40 times, then worn it all day, to no success.
Will call Rolex tomorrow. Thanks |

Hey John,
I had that very thing with a GMT once upon a time. Turned out it was the hairspring had a "kink" (for want of a better term.) Easy fix, but like you the watch worked fine on the wrist, but the power reserve sucked. The spring wasn't getting a full wind. |

Watch should still be under warranty, right? Send it to Rolex to be looked at. You might get a "free" service and a new 2-year warranty on the service.

Good luck with the repair. Sad to hear a 1 y. o. GMTII acted up like this. And that someone else had same issue.

Definately take it back to the AD you bought it from if it is still under warranty.

Yep, send it off. My Sub was only away for 2 weeks in the end, but it seemed an age at the time......
