Queries about Submariner 14060 No Date

Is Submariner 14060 No Date discontinued?

If not, what is the MSRP?

I am disappointed not to see any new ones on Ebay.

At some years of production, I see that there is no holes on the case, but the ones that are made in 2011 have the holes in the case. And I am confused about that, is that right?

Thanks in advance for your help.

They are not discontinued.

Sorry unable to find the reffrence for how much they cost. I'm sure someone will be a long in no time though.

Instead of eBay I would recomend checking this forums For Sale section. Make sure you purchase from a trusted seller if you chose to.

Pretty sure the 14060 only comes with lug holes.

The Sub Date version however no longer does.

14060M only comes with lug holes, no need to buy from e-bay, many to choose from in our classified section

MSRP in US $6,300 and agree that pre-owned here on TRF is a great path to avoid value drop as you leave the AD.

Thank you very much for the answers !

I am considering to buy from Ebay sellers who have a Rolex stock, 100% positive feedback with hundreds of Rolex sales. And, I only buy BNIB. Isnt this idea good?

For me no, for you and some others maybe.

I personally wouldn't shop for Rolex from ebay.

I think reputable seller on TRF will give you a better peace of mind. And that worth the price difference (if there's any)

x2!

Buy from a trusted TRF seller - the only way to go. Stay away from eBay unless you know what you are doing.

Thank you for all of the responses. In this case, I will consider your suggestion and have a look at the For Sale section for a NO DATE 2011 Submariner.

Don't worry too much about the 2011 date - you're not going to know the manufactured date on new ones anyway. Tony Geha (justrolexes) has a mint 14060 offered at $5095 in the For Sale listings

Have to wonder what the import duty, taxes are on that. Better with a local seller.

Thank you very much all.

I will wait until 15 March to buy a Rolex. I wanna see what models will come to Baselworld2012. Hopefully there will not be any price increase by that time.

I am really confused, because personally I do not believe that Rolex quality matches its prices and there is no huge variety of models with ceramic bezels.

I love SUB No date and Coke GMT. For now none of these are in production with ceramic bezels.

If either of them with a ceramic bezel will release soon, I will go for them instead of Aluminium Bezel Sub No Date, otherwise I will have to buy Aluminium Bezel Sub No date, or I will be Rolexless for good :)

Also, I must accept that the price of a Sub No Date Ceramic will never be same with the Aluminium bezel one, which is another issue.

The non date sub still has a lug hole case the current model is the 14060M the M stands for modified. They changed from the cal 3000 to the cal 3130 around 2001 which is basically a cal 3135 without the date.Plus now the newer models are COSC tested with extra fonts on dial but exactly the same movement as when not tested.Myself not a huge fan of the ceramic insert it functions the same as the aluminium insert but the ceramic is expensive to replace if you did scratch or chip it.If they do upgrade the non date sub at Basel this year it will be the latter part of this year before they will be at ADs for sale if you want one get one now maybe the last of the classic line.

Buy from right here. Good deals to be had. Preowned saves on depreciation hit. More watch for your money.

You are right. Tomorrow morning I will visit 2 ADs, and then decide.

A random (last of the 14060Ms) would likely prove to be a good purchase over time.

I thought here in America the price for a new one is $6400.00??? Anyways the Sub ND is a classic and as stated, I would check out the trusted sellers here as I'm sure there will be a price increase sometime this year. You'll save money over an AD and have yourself a great watch.....happy hunting!!!

The newer ones have the Rolex superlative Chronometer on the dial but dont read to much in the the wording "Superlative" in front of the official designation of Chronometer, today merely Rolex marketing to give it a more distinguished sound to the chronometer status of their products. Any words added before or after the official designation of Chronometer are merely purely marketing, likewise the wording Certified Chronometer,is a redundant phrase word, since getting the Chronometer status is the certification, but the certification is only at the time of testing the bare un-cased movement. And the 14060 and 14060M before they were sent for COSC testing had exactly the same movement as the Explorer that was tested now all mechanical movements are tested. And going back quite a few years watches like the 5512 subs were not tested but the 5513 were.Likewise on watches like the vintage Daytona 6263 the S.Steel versions were not tested, but the solid gold ones were, but both had the same ETA Valjoux 72 series movements.

Thank you very much for the info. It is actually a little bit marketing thing. Old one looks so empty comparing to the new one. ( I do not want to offend any 14060 owner though ). Cheers.
