EULIT Nato straps
Is there anywhere else to get these except watchstyle.com??
I'm very interested in trying one of these but watchstyle.com requires a $35 purchase minimum + $20 to ship to the states... just seems like a lot to "try out" a nato. I'm interested in this particular nato because I like the way the hardwear on them looks. It appears much thicker/chunkier than the standard natos you see all over. I think I like the bolder look of the EULIT. Does anyone know where else I can find these, preferably in the states? |

This may not be any help, but the "chunkyness" is actually a matter of flatter hardware, as opposed to bigger. I've seen that same look before but don't remember who was selling it. The flatness is made to fit the strap closer.

Interesting. You've seen them in jcrew and they look to have that wider, more square hardware? From the look of this one the hardware seems pretty normal (like the majority of other natos). Thanks for the info though, I may have to stop into a jcrew just to have a look. |

That makes sense. So it sits flatter to the strap, but is wider and more square from above? I think I still prefer it, although I'd love to see one in person, or more photographs of a EULIT Nato from different angles

maratac
I looked at the Maratac brand straps, and I think they use something like this on some of their straps. The hardware you've got in your picture is much more rectangular than some of the other Nato/Zulu stuff.

As far as I can understand, NATO straps have the flatter rectangular hardware and Zulus have the oval hardware. Zulu straps also tend to be a little thicker, although NATO are also sometimes made in a heavy-duty version. You can check this out by searching pictures on various websites.
I notice that the strap in your picture seems to have a spring-bar buckle. When I was looking for a NATO recently, I deliberately avoided those as they don't match the rings and are also probably less secure than a one-piece sewn-in buckle (which defeats the whole purpose of a NATO strap). This is what I ended up with by the way. NATO2.jpg NATO1.jpg |
