Just picked this one up today. Must say I am very pleased with it, although it’s going to be a mini project to complete; in the market for a top hat crystal and tritium pearl insert. The case seems reasonably fat and the dial in good shape. I believe it’s a mk IV. The hands match the dial better than in the photo the seller had.

Its on a 93150 bracelet while not technically correct is practical for a watch which is going to get some wrist time.

The seller (bless him) also pulled out an EXPLORER II 1655 'Orange Hand' Steve McQueen, thankfully willpower and diminished bank balance prevented further interest on my part!

May I quickly thank Diamond Jack for some background advice he was kind enough to provide prior to the acquisition of this piece.

Huge congrats on a very nice find

The 9315 bracelet can be picked up but is pretty tinny and uncomfortable and most people prefer the 93150 that you have. I took mine straight off and as you know wear it on an ostrich leather strap now.

The pearl can be bought for about a fiver from RSC if you don't mind a lumi version or about £200 from somewhere like VRF for a tritium one .... but note....they can be prone to cracking. It's a risk as the tritium ones are pretty old now but do look better.

Nice Red Sub !
The insert looks great, you can find the pearls on the fora and tour local AD can put them in for you (i've had mine do it on a 5513 this week) It will look much better...
Why the new tophat ? If scratches just polish with polywatch and it will be as new

Instead of buying a tritium pearl (witch matches the dial) you schoul buy a fat font insert with pearl and sell your fat font insert... It will be cheaper...
FF with pearl: 300$
sell yors ' 250$
pearl seperatly: 200$

Great Stuff Gabriel, I recall you were hinting at a Red at the GTG. Do you still have your 16800 or was that a Red Sub casualty?
Glad you took the plunge, i love mine (although not perfect) it feels special everytime I wear it, a definate keeper. Huge congrats

Unfortunately that has been my experience too. Whatever you do, don't change a pearl on carpet. Great looking watch. You're fortunate to have Steve helping you out.

But nothing quite like the ability to chat about our beloved watches with like minded people and also to be able try each others watches on without some sales guy leaning over you ....... I think that non pressurised environment really helps instill the bug and sows the seed that eventually leads to the subsequent purchase ..... Seems to be the case with you and Gabriel at least

In my excitement over my new purchase I forgot to thank Jed for his advice on the serial number. As it turned out I could read all 7 digits with the naked eye.
