I'm not a ski enthusiast but this tragic accident and her death are very sad, my thoughts are with the family.

Very very sad. Talented beautiful girl. They sounded guardedly optimistic about her recovery too :(

Sad story. In her tragic death she allowed others to live through organ donation.

I'm sorry to hear this. Freestyle skiing and snowboarding seem to be getting increasingly dangerous with the height and complexity of the aerial moves.

Very sad. Says her family are facing a $550,000 medical bill as well. Would insurance not cover this? You guys in the states have a different health system than us in the UK.

She was Canadian and must not have had a US insurance policy. But you're right, health insurance is generally private in the US for people under 65.

It looks like her family won't have to pay for her medical care after all.
