My 1500
Good day, Gents-
What I believe I have here is a '68 Oyster Perpetual Date ref. 1500, mostly original, but you chaps definitely know better than me. I'd just like to learn a bit more about it. What do you think about Originality, Condition, Value of the piece? I purchased it a few years back and rarely wear it. Have a look: Cheers! mm |

I have one too, only mine has no lume. I love that dial design and the shape of the hands.

does anyone have any inkling about what a piece like this would be worth in the market? i just dropped a handy sum on a 16610 and am considering selling the 1500 to support my habit...
Cheers! mm |

The watch looks great, but the bracelet is "strange".
The clasp shows 7835 and K6 (June 1986). It have probably been changed during a service, as 7835 arent' rivetted, and your bracelet is rivetted so it's most probably a 7205. Do you have something engraved on the bracelet ? ie Like that : 7205 were replaced by 7835 in 1967, so probably the bracelet is original, one of the last delivered in 1968. But the clasp isn't the right one, and could be replaced to be perfect. This is a 7205 claps: |

I love how clean-looking these 1500s are. Here's mine. Actually now my wife's as she has commandeered it from me.

Hello Moneymonk!
Beautiful 1500 you got there. It is a favorite reference of mine. A watch much under rated I feel. Your serial number puts yours in the 1968 year of production. You should check about the reference numbers of your bracelet, though the use of a riveted links one, is correct for the period. I got a full gold version, as well as an stainless steel one, and just love them. Nice little watches, very elegant, low profile, and reliable timepieces. I wish youŽll keep enjoying it! Best cordial regards, Abel.
