Explorer II (216570) white 2-page magazine ad
FWIW, in the mail today a news magazine came with this two-page spread on the first two pages.

Cool, I don't think I've seen that one.
Thanks for sharing.

I find it odd that Rolex would promote the AM/PM feature rather than the dual time zone
feature. Which is the more common usage for the 24 hour hand? |

The AM/PM feature is what the Explorer II was created for. The dual time zone was the GMT Master. Back when Explorer II just came out, the 24 hour hand can not be adjusted, it always show the 24 hour of what the 12 hour hand was showing, nothing else.
What I find odd from the ad is why the Explorer II is submerged in ice water? Shouldn't it be a cave? |

Very "cool" Cru.
That spread was in the UK National Geographic a couple of issues back.

Nice. That one omits the old dude. Maybe Rolex is hoping young guys buy the watch as well.

The one I posted was from the international Times magazine. Rolex almost always advertises over the first two pages, with it usually being the GMTIIc, Daytona or Milgauss. First time I saw the new Explorer II. |

Love the ad!
HATE the "Live for Greatness" slogan and ad campaign. So pretentious IMHO. |
