I enjoy playing guitar rather often and I own a Theremin but I do not write any songs, does that still count?

I have been inspired to write poetry on various occasions in my life and while I do like the poems I've written, I must admit that they aren't going to render my name immortal.
Some folks like some of my works, but some of my favorite ones no one knows how to properly interpret them and I'm at a loss as to how to explain them and I don't think I'm obligated to do so. At least no one can accuse me of selling out to crass commercialism.

Been playing music for over 25 years, having penned my share of songs, and recording 4 CD's, a live cassette, and my earliest was a 45 [yes, I'm that old].
I've always been prepared to sell out............but no one's buying. dP
