Have to agree, leave this one as is. It's only original once, even if well used.

This one just in last week ...

Missing a few bits but a nice easy project.

A nicely patina'd dial .... now scratched when a careless watchmaker was removing the hands

Anyways, will post some pics when it's cosmetically finished - another watchmaker will service the movement

for some reason that blemish at the 12 position on the bezel would really bother me, but I would still leave the rest of the watch just as it is.

You have to only imagine what kind of things that watch has seen over the years. Great example, enjoy and wear in good health!!

I never get tired of wondering where all these scratches came from. This one survived a couple of tours in Vietnam, a sail around the world, and a mugging attempt in Mobassa, Kenya.

Exactly the way it should be. I easily pay a premium for that
over a polished case.

That watch has character, but it doesn't look bad at all.

It looks pretty good if you ask me.

I like the weathered look. Isn't that why we buy these in the first place? I hate the "oh no, first scratch" threads. I can see it on a DJ or DD...but not the Subs, GMTs, Expys, AirKings, etc. They are built to take one to the ends of the Earth
