Servicing Rolex in Australia/Perth?
So every 4-6 years I need to get my Rolex serviced.
Obviously the best place to do this would at the official serving centre at Rosendorffs in Perth city. The Problem is that I was quoted around $1500 AUD (more in USD) for a service which at 0.25 of the worth of a Submariner is pretty ridiculous. So what alternatives do I have get an official Rolex service for cheaper? I’ve also got a Jaeger Lecoultre and a Ball that will need to be serviced at some point in similar circumstances. |

Hello Demosthene,
Did you find a cheaper Rolex service in Perth? I am in the same situation and researching options. Cheers Paul |

There's a few independant watchmakers here, but most do not have access to genuine Rolex parts.... $1500 service is pretty hefty.. Must require some repairs I'm guessing? |

Whoaaa!
How much? Think they're adding on a few bob for themselves. Normal service no broken parts should be nowhere near that. That's about £400 more than in UK. |

Rosendorffs in Perth city not an AD anymore and do not have a service centre.
You can find Glen in Perth City, performing the work as an independant. |

$1500 is getting pretty steep.
You must need parts. A service on the head only(no bracelet) of my EXP II last year at RSC Melbourne was about $750. No parts, no polishing. With a 2 year Rolex world wide warranty. |

Only just saw this thread had more replies in it.
To clarify a few things, the service quote was just a standard service with no replacement parts and some polishing of a small scratch on the clasp. The watch at the time of posting had been purchased new and was a year old. I had just written off the high price as normal Perth profiteering. Sending it to Singapore at this time seems like the best option for servicing. I may have a quick talk to Watches of Switzerland (who now stock Rolex) and see what their response is (I’m not hopeful of a low price though ) |

just curious why a 1 year old watch (bought new) needs servicing if no parts are needed? Maybe I misunderstood? The accepted length is 7 years, and many owners stretch that out to 10 years, or even more!

It didn't need servicing, rather I was just curious as to how much the servicing costs would be so inquired at the local AD to get a general idea of how much the watches maintenance would cost.
Probably planning ahead a bit excessively I admit |

Ring the RSC in Melbourne for an approximate cost for a standard service. No doubt they will say around $750'ish. Then go back to your AD ask them if the RSC charge $750, why are you charging $1500? Love to here there response ... :)
