question on possible next grail...

I have been getting calls from two AD near me regarding the SS Daytona but they are not offering any discount at all for this watch.

In the recent purchase in Oct 2011, one of the AD threw in the first service overhaul for my buddy's Sub and for my PP. However, he is not offering it for the SS Daytona....

Anyone has success in getting freebies/discounts thrown in for the SS Daytona? Just wondering if this is the best I can do for a BNIB SS Daytona?

Thanks!

Being a very popular model with a lot of demand I doubt AD's will give discounts or freebies for those. I would recommend you to take a look at the FS section right here if you wish to save some money on it.

Contact Alcan. He is one of the senior members here on TRF. View the link for the SS Daytona his AD is offering 15% off on (https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=215980). Good luck

I've heard of some discounts for the SS Daytona. Not the 15%ish you can find on Subs and GMTs but I've seen them in a lot of the stores I've been in lately and they're definately not as hard to find as they once were. I woul think make some calls and you will find a discount then see if your AD would consider matching.

Interesting... from the thread, seems that no one actually went ahead and tried to purchase it from Canada and bring back to US...

Thanks!

Thanks, I have been looking at the FS section for the past month - the price of a LNIB/BNIB SS Daytona (2011+) in the FS section is similar/higher than MSRP so it seems to make sense for me to buy from an AD with the 2 year warranty and with my name on the warranty card.

I have seen them in the NJ stores as well but no AD thus far has been willing to move on the price/throw in anything!

No problem. I have dealt with Alcan before and must say there were no issues at all, flawless transaction sourcing the piece I was looking for straight from Canada to the States. Two more links for your reference...

I guess if you want the watch bad enough you will/should be happy just to get one without any perks. Otherwise wait and see what the future brings!!!

A former dealer offered my friend 5% off if he buys two 2 years ago. That's right before they went out of biz.

How times have changed...now people are expecting discounts on Daytonas?

It's a beautiful watch. Hope you get the deal you are happy with.

Sorry if my question came across inappropriately to some members and offended anyone.

I was just trying to ask an honest question to see if I should expect to pay the full MSRP without any extras (e.g. a service) thrown in for the SS Daytona since they readily available at several AD.

From the various responses, I have concluded that the best we can do in US is to get it at MSRP.

Thanks guys!
