Rolex Tudor Help!
Hi All, I am new to the forum. I was recently given a Rolex Tudor Prince Oysterdate as a gift and was curious if it is real. The dial has both the Rolex and Tudor brand on it, with the Tudor logo on the dial. Please Help! Thank you!

Dial should not have Rolex on it and I believe the 55 endlinks were gold/SS.

The dial is a reprint at the very least.

First the dial should not have both "Rolex" and "Tudor" on it but the font used on the "Rolex" is different & heavier than the rest of the dial. It's also a little crooked. I don't see anything wrong with the rest of the dial. It almost looks like the original dial has had the "Rolex" added. Like someone thought adding it would make it better or more sellable. I could be wrong and either way it's scrap unless I'm right and somehow you can remove the "Rolex" printing without damage to the dial.

Someone added "Rolex" to the dial to increase the sale price. Tudor was founded officially in 1946 as a stand alone brand. From that year forward the word Rolex should never appear on the dial at the same time.
I have heard that back in the 1920s it was seen but this is more vintage than I care to get and makes me suspicious regardless. |

There are a few examples of Rolex Tudor labelled produced in the 20's and 30's, prior to the Tudor branding in 1946. None was produced after 1946.
This watch might be real but the 'Rolex' looks like an unfortunate addition.
