Two Tone or Stainless, 1 watch?

You can have only one watch, which would you pick?

I thinking about moving from a SS Sub C to a Two Tone Sub C, Black face.

I have the Rolex bug that is for sure,

I want a solid gold watch it is just not reasonable in my everyday life. Plus with two small kids how can dump 30k into a watch, not me thats who.

The key to this is that you can only own ONE

When it comes to the Sub, I believe SS is the way to go. Enough class to wear with a suit, enough tool to beat it up on the weekends.

SS Submariner all the way! Two tone gets way to scratched, if you wear it everyday and beat it up! Stainless Steel gets beaten up and you brush it with scotch brite, GOOD as new! I'd go Stainless Steel if it were an everyday.

Subs are casual watches and I prefer SS for casual.

Man, I was on the same boat as you when I was looking to purchase my first Rolex. I kinda liked the TT black face a tiny bit more more than the SS sub, but then again I thought the SS would be more subtle, and is also a true beauty, and is cheaper.

In the end I went with the SS sub, and I love it. It is very subtle and does not get too much notice by other people. If you want your watch to get noticed more however, the TT black face is the way to go.

What do you do for work? What are the roughest conditions or situations you would wear the watch in?

TT is a nice watch for everything IMHO and I am biased to the TT GMT
