Just sold my Daytona...
I just sold my Daytona to my brother in law, I loved it but I was wearing it less and less. Not to beat a dead horse but I didn't wear it a lot because it has no date function and I almost never used it's chronometer complications so i decided to part with it. My brother in law has always coveted it so I cut him a GREAT deal.
So what should i do next? I'm down to just one Rolex, I've been looking for a new beater for a while, but now I'm also looking for a new Rolex, any thoughts for me? Suggest away!!

wantonebad,
I have a couple fun choice for you: 1. An old-school GMT Pepsi/Coke (used) 2. A new 116610LV "Hulk" 3. A new DSSD 4. A used 16600 Sea-Dweller I think those 4 choices have a lot of "fun" factor and certainly will maintain their value should you wish to jettison the watch later. |

As you already have a TT Sub, go for either a Sub C or GMT II C in steel.

I would get me a Daytona date or no date, it is one of the most beautiful watches Rolex ever made.
I'm saying this because I parted with 2 already and can't get over not having one.

With that sub you need a GMT, coke or pepsi, your choice but I'll tell you what you will wear it

I'd recommend either a Pepsi GMT II or 16610 LV (get a black bezel insert - makes two watches or one).

I love the concept of the DSSD, I hate how thick it is, I wish I liked it, my life would be so much easier!!
I Love the look of most Panerai's but their movements and workmanship just aren't worth their asking price IMHO. At half the price, most would still be over priced. Quote:

Way too many folks buy the Daytona or for that matter a chronograph of any brand that don't need or never use the chronograph. You are wise to move on.

I really don't use my chronographs for their intended purpose but I enjoy their aesthetics - for that reason alone they are worth owning/enjoying IMO. Ultimately it is all individual taste, |
