What about prices IN Switzerland?

Are there any deals in Zurich or Geneva? Or is the price comparable to US prices?

Very good question. I would like to know myself if discounts are infact available in Switzerland.

However, from the very little knowledge I know on that so far - My guess is that their prices tend to be much higher on average than the US

Hopefully someone else knows this and will let us know!

I was in Geneva last October and the strength of their currency made the prices non competitive across brands. I went to the Rolex boutique and even if they would have given me a discount, it would not have been even close to Amsterdam prices.

I hope this helps!

I live in geneva, the price is expensive. Also discount is very little, for stranger they only give 3%, except daytona, 0%, never buy rolex in bucherer, they are overpriced.

I don't' know, but getting a Rolex out Switzerland might be a customs nightmare for a tourist.

I am Swiss, and I live in Switzerland.

Unfortunately, our currency is soooooooo strong, the prices here are higher than in most other countries.

I still remember when i was a child, one US $ was about 4 Swiss Francs, today it has dropped to 0.9.

Incredible but true.

I must disagree with most of you, particularly in relation to Australian prices. I'm currently in Geneva and as an example the list price for the current Sub is CHF 7,600. When you factor in the exchange rate, then take the 7.5% local tax off it becomes AUD 7,600. List price in Australia is 9,600

Went to Basel this year and it was expensive. A hole in the wall Tai restaurant caused my wife and $100. And we only had water to drink. Prices of watches are much higher in Switzerland than the states. At least in Germany, I can use a value added tax(VAT) form and that saves me 19% on purchases.

The Swiss giving a good deal would be like ordering a whopper at McDonald's. Not going to happen. Have you ever tried to buy Louis Vuitton in Paris. Same thing. I don't get it but I'm glad it is the way it is.

Australia's prices are probably one of the highest in the world. I think right now the best place in Europe overall would still be in Germany where there is a fairly high net VAT refund and a fairly large selection of the lastest models. The Submariner is around A$7300 after VAT refund.

I tried two DD-II's while in Zurich in May 2011, a white roman dial (30 800 Swiss francs) and a champagne dial (30 400 for this one). I'm not sure about the US prices at that time but I do believe Switzerland have higher prices.

Australia has become one of the most expensive countries to live in the world and in particular the resource state.

I was in basel this november and bucherer wanted 7000+ CHF for a SS sub c. Here in northern Italy you can usually find those for 5200-5500€ (cash)

Also been in abu Dhabi last month (hoped i could find a decent deal) and gmt2c was 7.5k usd, which again is a lot more expensive than italy
