Sd or Exp II

In reference to "lets go diving" 's Post:

So if you are Cave Diving, do you take a Seadweller/Sub with you or do you strap an Explorer II to your wrist?

Or one on each wrist?

I'd take the SD. Built like a tank!

I would wear the Explorer II, that way you do not have to change watches once you get out of the water.

Well, at least with the SD you don't have to strap as many weights to your belt!!! LOL

Despite the high scratch potential it is important to maintain good balance so you don't kick up much silt so I would say one on each arm. Also it is always imprtant to have multiple back ups when you cave/wreck dive. But you better have nerves of 904 steel to take 2 Rolex into a cave!

if you cave dive with no computer and you're using a watch you've got more balls than me. (i bring the watch as a backup) you don't need an explorer 2 unless youre doing so many tanks that you're going to lose track of the days lol. thats pretty good air consumption. i'd bring a seadweller or sub.
as the above poster said--and i assume he uses tables and not a computer--if youre diving on a watch and tables--redundancy is necessary

Well, the Explorer II would be the way to go, incase you get the Narcs, and can not remeber if it is day or night in the dark cave!!!!!

most caves in the us arent that deep. but if you get narced in an overhead environment--to the point you forget whether its day or night--the time will be the least of your problems

Well, if you are going cave diving in a cave that is inside a Mountain, then you definately need an Explorer II.

The proper course is to wear both plus an Air-King for the flight there and back plus a GMT in case you have to cross a time zone(s).

That's why God gave us two wrists and two ankles.

Might as well then make sure on one ankle, ya strap on a Date-Date Oysterquartz. In case you pass out, don't know the day of the week, and you're out for more than the reserve of all those mechanical watches. Though going 50+ hours with no water could be a bigger problem than the day.

And in case you have to ski down the mountain after finishing your cave dive, make sure it is a White Face Explorer II.

Well there is one more appendage to which yet another Rolex could be strapped, but the problem is I'd have to go aftermarket since all the Rolex bracelets would be too small.

And I just couldn't do that.
