My pen and pencil

Greetings TRF,

I thought it would be nice to share with you my "fancy" pen and pencil. I used to only write Bic's and was honestly fine with them but the ones I'm about to show you are gifts from my father and my grandfather, therefore they both have a great sentimental value!

Let's start with my pen, a Lefebvre wooden pen made in Trois-Rivières which was given to my father as a work gift before he decided to give it to me (he didn't really use it).

Here are some boring box and papers pictures, everything is, of course, in French.

And my precious!

Some close-ups

They engraved my father's name on the clip and I really like that. I know that when I'll be older I'll look at it and remember the man who raised me and gave it to me (insert some nostalgic smiles/"that's lame!" comments here).

I think it fits my Dreyfuss rather well, you can't really go wrong with brown and gold!

And here is the other one! It's a Montblanc Oscar Wilde LE mechanical pencil and it belonged to my grandfather. It has quite an original look and I understand it may not be for everybody but I really like it and I think a pencil is always useful (you see so many MB pens anyway...).

I wonder where it came from...

Papers, bloody papers...

The book shaped box (I really like the look of it)!

And when you open it...

Oscar Wilde's signature.

Since it's a bit older, you can see that the metal parts are a bit worn and used. I really like the "beat up" look it gives to the pencil! It adds character, as they say.

And finally, here are some pictures of the duo!

Ready to be used!

Thank you for watching! Feel free to comment!

Absolutely gorgeous pens Carl! The wooden one is very nice! How does she write?

Well I don't know how long my father had it before he gave it to me but I had to let it roll on the paper a bit before ink started to come out! It's quite a good pen now that it works though!

EDIT: How impolite of me! Thank you very much for the compliment!

Carl, I love the Oscar Wilde pen. Your grandfather had/has great taste

I can inform you that it was first released in 1994 and it was the third Writers' Limited Edition released by Montblanc (Montblanc has released one Writers' Edition every year since 1992).

Here's a good link for you to learn more :

Thank you Carl!

My grandfather received his Montblancs as gifts as well and passed this down to me, he does have () great taste indeed and he currently has the Friedrich Schiller RB pen (or is it a BP?) as well as the Chopin FP. He also gave a Charles Dickens FP (a huge pen, might I add! ) to my brother!

Thank you for that interesting link! I could really use one of those Agatha Christie's or Alexandre Dumas's!

Thank you Craig but you shouldn't open that link unless you are ready to buy one (or twelve) pens!

Here's my contribution. I'm clueless about pens. But this is a Waterman pen that I received from a good family friend. I just googled it and I believe it is part of the Serinite line.

Lovely, Brian!

Would you have any pictures of the whole pens?

That's a very nice fountain pen Craig! It seems like it gets a lot of useful writing time.

Just saying!

And lastly - here's my wife's Montblanc that she bought 20-something years ago. She likes the fact that it says 'W Germany' on the pens.

I just realized, Carl, that I started posting my pens in your thread. That was actually very bad form as I should have posted in the general 'pen' section. Sorry about that.

Beautiful pens from your Grandad and father!

Young lad, if I had a dollar every time I hi-jacked a thread I would have bought myself a yellow-gold Day-Date by then! Don't feel sorry for your pictures were nice and funny! Keep it up!
