Just sent my RB2 in to Clearwater for service. Total cost including parts $1064 dollars. That is a few hundred more than a Rolex full overhaul so not too bad IMHO. My RB2 is an F series like all other RB2 Ti's made in 2007. I have heard a lot of myths and rumbling around how crazy service costs are so hope this puts an end to that. I also ordered brand new RB2 Ti strap for $374 dollars- again not too bad for that strap IMHO.

Eric- just AP standard service cost and RB2 Ti new strap cost. I think it is quite fair and far less than what rumors are out there! Wanted to debunk the myth!!

Exactly....The watch didn't need polish as it was hardly worn. It came from large collector who literally has every limited AP made. He never wore it. I got new strap only because I wanted me that was never worn as I am a picky dude!!

Ken was your RB2 running slow or fast? Not bad for a service cost, however, curious...

Ken, I would have placed a strap on it and left it at that. Look forward to the return of the masthead beast.

Smart choice to have it looked over, Ken. And the cost was surprisingly affordable. Makes me think that it is only the vintage AP's that costs a lot to service...

Thanks for posting about this. That's all great news to hear about AP. What is the turn around time these days? I've heard everything from two weeks to 2 months.

Will second Ken's point. My 15300 Royal Oak just had its movement overhaul done by AP Clearwater, and my bill was just over $900. This number was just for the movement, with no polishing--that would be a few hundred more, had I so opted.
Wouldn't call that figure "cheap" per se, but certainly not wild or exorbitantly more than what an RSC will charge for an overhaul these days...especially if we're talking servicing a Daytona or YMII, which have relatively more complex workings than a 3130 or 3135. In fairness to Rolex though, they do include the refinishing. Bottom line: servicing for AP is not what many are claiming, at least if we're talking modern pieces that don't have high complications like a perpetual calendar, tourbillon or repeater. (Or a particularly old piece that needs a full restoration). Now those are a different kettle of fish! ![]() |

Sent in my AP Diver for a 3rd year warranty procedure and requested a bezel only finishing removing a few scratches and micro dings; quoted $140 with return shipping on them…not bad at all. And the customer service (Betsy) is the Bomb!

That's not bad at all. I wonder how much would AP Australia charge for the same job? I've got a scratch which I don't mind getting rid off for less than 200 bucks.
