Well....it's flipped

Made my decision on what I wanted yesterday. So started talking to AD late yesterday in the afternoon. He probably was not in the mood to talk trade yesterday because his first offer on my SS was laughable at best.

So this morning, and so as to refresh is memory a little, I photocopied the last 2 years of receipts from his store and faxed them to him. A couple hours later I was starting to get a little pissed because he had not called me back yet. I finally called in and they had been trying to reach me but they did not have my new cell phone number on file. They had tried my work number, but today being Saturday I was not there.

Anyways I guess my fax woke up a few lazy eyes because I took a $300.00 loss on my SS, paid the difference on TT minus discount of course, and left the store with an M serial TT GMT and I LOVE IT.

Pretty much sums up my saturday.

I'm happy now. Not that I did not like the SS version but it just was not smiling at me as much as it should. One SS is enough for me. So, i'm a happy camper

AD's should have 1 'temporary' watch for every line available so people can take them home and think about it for a couple of days, see how it feels and wears. This way they make sure if a customer wants to flip they did not have to break out a new one.
Restrictions of course.

Congratulations!!

It seems to me that at the rate the forum members here are buying the new GMTs, that Rolex is going to have to sell more than 800,000 watches this year, just to keep up.

Also, on the back of Watch Time magazine this month there is an ad for the Daytona showing the Parachrome Bleu main spring that is also in our GMTs.

Rolex hit a home run on this one!! Congratulations on getting the one you want!

Congrats, Mike. From all that I've heard, Howard's is pretty good. And you have an established track record with them.

Thanks guys. Just got of the movie theater seeing Die Hard III.
Two hours would of been better spent playing with my new gift to me.!! Pics tomorrow. I just love the weight of this watch. Feels a little heavier than the SS...not sure if it is though.

Just don't "overwind" it like JJ does when you're 'playing with it'

I agree - they are good people and seem to be more flexible than the other AD in Ottawa, although I really like the Watch Boutique manager at the other one - he's a prince of a guy.

First off congrats, and of course its heavier, I felt a SS Sub and it was super light compared to my TT Daytona... The owner said well what do you expect that gold is 3 times the weight of the ss on my watch

From what I read through a search is that there is not that much difference in weight between the SS and TT. In one thread the SS is listed at 168gr. I remember seeing in another thread the TT on a digital scale came in at 167 or 168. (could not find this thread)
