Interesting but I'm assuming fake.

What is this supposed to be ? Some sort of Deep Sea Datejust ?


Just thought the picture was cool and you guys might like a look.

They are pictures of the original experimental Rolex Deepsea Special watch in 1960,now that was a real test watch.When you think in those days no computer design like we have today with the challenger DSSD watch in 2012.In 1960 the deep sea special was attached to the hull of the Trieste and emerged in perfect working order after withstanding the huge pressure exerted at 6.78 miles (nearly 11 km) below the surface in the Mariana Trench.

Is that gold or just an odd reflection? I thought the original was all steel.

i was just thinking the same ,,, rough tough and cutting edge design , off to test it possibly to destruction ,,,,,, hell , may as well make it tt to look good too.

Im almost positive Rolex made more than 1 Deepsea Special. I have seen some that appear SS and some TT. Also the crystal seems to be slightly different on them.
