New guy and Rolex Daytona TT

Hi "new guy" to the forum. I have been looking around for awhile
and like all the friendly help, advise and knowledge on this board.

Here's my question I am contemplating a Rolex Daytona purchase
in TT. I believe it is a mid nineties model. (I will know tomorow)

Anyways it has a standard oyster bracelet and clasp, not the
"sport model" type. Is this correct, I believe it is a Zenith with
black dial. Any thoughts on this Rolex from this time frame?

Thanks in advance fro all the SUPERB info.

Cheers Kevin

Welcome Kevin. I'm just south of the river.
Don't have much knowledge about Daytonas but the experts will answer you soon.
Good luck,

you'll probaly hear this over and over - but - buy the dealer, not the watch.
i don't mean to freak you out, but there are some damn good fakes out there that have even fooled the folks over at Rolex -- make sure you know what to look for :
http://www.qualitytyme.net/pages/rolex_or_replica.html

this is a great source to see what some of the fakes have ... anyhow, hope it's real -- you'll love it!! post pics when you get a chance

Welcome to TRF!

This is quite exciting, at least for me, being a Daytona fan, so congrats on getting a "Zenith" Daytona.

Please have a look at this "Daytona overview":

which IS about the stainless steel version of the "Zenith" Daytona but also applies to the TT.

Also, please read the below article on the Daytona "Zenith" dials:

Daytona "Zenith" dial. CLICK HERE!

and tell me what dial YOU have, please.

If you are in doubt how to post pictures here, then you try out MY suggestion how to post pics here:

1) Go to www.photobucket.com and create an account (it's FREE!)
2) Upload the pic to photobucket from your PC
3) When it's uploaded, copy the IMG code (BOTTOM bar under the photo in photobucket - there are four bars, but you'd wanna use the LAST bar - see my arrow on the Print Screen underneath). You copy the IMG code by simply clicking on the bar:

4) You then note that photobucket tells you "copied".
5) Then go to rolexforums and start your post.
6) In your post, press the "Add picture" button and a prompt pops up with http://. Delete that http:// and press CTRL + V (now that address of the photo - the "IMG tag" - is inserted in the prompt you got.
7) Then DELETE the last and first [IMG] to get rid of "IMG" standing before and after your photo when you post it. (not important, but just looks better).

Or you can skip # 6 & 7 and just rightclick in your post and choose "paste"...........BINGO your photo will be there as soon as you press Submit reply.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT DELETE THE PICTURE FROM PHOTOBUCKET (OR ANY SERVER YOU USE) SINCE DELETING IT THERE WOULD ALSO DELETE IT HERE ON TRF! (RED CROSS INSTEAD OF PIC).

That's it!

Well, in general I am not fond of TT watches myself, but it is all a matter of personal preference.

Bo..Wow!! Thanks for the "Zenith" dial link. Question?

I noticed on Mark III? dials the bottom sub dial has an inverted "6". I know they make mention of it. Is this considered a "flaw".
As something to avoid on this model, or am I being way too anal

cheers Kevin
