TT Rolex. Necessary?
I have two TT Rolex. The TT Blue Sub and the TT Blue dial YM.
They both are very pleasing to the eye, but I find that I tend to wear my all SS Rolex (LV and Black Dial Explorer II) over any of the TT. I guess what I am getting at is, is it really necessary to have a TT in your collection? I always thought I wanted gold as part of my collection, but I just don't seem to be drawn to wearing them lately. What do you guys think? Motivate me to keep my TT Rolex please. |

I would say that 1 is enough. Especially if you dont wear the TT's often!

I will always keep my TT Blue Sub for my wife bought it for me but my SS GMT II gets most of the wrist time. I wear the TT Blus Sub on special occaisons. I think the TT Blue Sub is a classic and time will be kind to her. Keep the TT Blue Sub.

Maybe you should go all the way with the gold instead of TT?

I don't think it's necessary by any means.
I do think that it has something to do with where you are in your life. I have two friends who both have the same TT Blue Sub's I have and it suits them very well. I see them with their 3 kids each and great families...so it works for them. It's MHO that a TT or solid gold Rolex represents success in life...and although I'm successful in my career...a fully successful life, to me, means raising a family. So until then...I guess I will only wear my Sub sparingly. I'm not saying this is true for you at all. I mean...there must have been a reason you bought your DJ and YM. They must have "smiled" at you for a reason. So maybe think back and ask yourself if those reasons are still true for you now. If so...keep them. You aren't any worse off for doing so. Being that my Sub was a gift...I would never sell it...but in addition to sentimental value...it's an icon. Can't go wrong :) Hope this helps... Much Aloha! |

I wore two tones for years...
and gold ones, too. Now my entire collection is stainless steel sports models. SS just has a much, much cleaner look IMHO.
Pretty much the only thing I'm even considering in gold at this point is a white gold Daytona on a bracelet. |

Sell the yachtmaster... the only TT I own is the TT Blue Sub, cause it's a doll... I have to admit I dont wear it as much as the others.

Necessary? No. But honestly, do we have to wear a particular watch all the time to justify it's place in a collection? The TT blue Sub is a classic!
Of the two, IF one had to go(to make way for something?) the YM would, for me, have to give way to a truly iconic piece. |

I've found that in the last 6 months or so I've been wearing my TT black Sub less. It's probably the most expensive in my motley collection, but I have others which to me are just as cool for their own various reasons.

Lately, I told myself that my beater would become the EXP II, which generally only went with me on vacation; yet the watch I have worn least - a GMT - has been seeing the most wrist time... It must be because of Global Warming... or something in the air.....or the water.... |

I periodically get the urge to sell or trade one of the really great watches in my collection (they're not all of them great,) and have learned to wait. Put it away and don't wear it for several months or more. One day you will want to take it out again, and it's like having a new watch!!!
If 6 months go by and you still don't want it, then I would sell it. JMO. Larry. |

TT watches are not necessary for me. I believe that the only watch which is necessary for me is a full 18k gold day date. Or an 18k full gold sub.

I plan to buy a TT in the future, I think they are good looking watches. Not too much gold so that it does not attract a lot of attention. Because solid gold really stands out. Well white gold is more subtle though.
It doesnt mean that I dont have plans to buy all gold in the future though!
