Oysterquartz Servicing

I was hoping someone could give me an idea of what Rolex Canada would charge to service an Oysterquartz.

I know the battery needs to be replaced, as it's keeping poor time. I'd also like to get the case/bracelet polished, and the crown/tube will most likely need replacing.

The main thing is, what is a service cost of an Oysterquartz movement?

Got snookered on this Oysterquartz. Seller and I were going to meet tomorrow, and someone drove out to them tonight and snapped it up--for less than I offered!

Dont forget there are quite a few mechanical parts in the Oysterquartz the drive train is from the cal 3035.So it could be as or more expensive to service than a mechanical watch. And when launched the movement would cost more to replace than a mechanical one.

Someone accepting less $$ for something just To move it fast always raises eyebrows. Sounds like you dodged a bullet.

And replacement is always an issue to consider. That must cost a fortune.

There are some costly parts in an Oyster Quartz, Electronic module and the motor come to mind but they are quite good time keepers when serviced properly. Rikki

I had my 17013 into RSC Dallas about 4 years ago. It included a new dial, hands, crown and crystal. I think it ran me about $550 for service, and another $300 in parts. It was the first time the watch had EVER been in for more than a battery and gasket since new in 1984.
