My Two Rolex Stopped Working

Hi! I hope everybody is doing well and i wish for the success of all your tasks.
I post this inquiry a week ago but i realized about browsing this website that i should have written this in this Forum.
I have a Rolex Submariner and Daytona. I bought this new from a Rolex dealer in the Philippines about eight years ago. I am residing in Vancouver and when i leave for about six months i put this in a safe deposit box and everytime i come back i put in a watchwinder and start using it.
Last month i got them both back and they were working fine. But this month i've noticed that the Daytona's movement was unusualy slow and after about two days it stopped. Rewinding it doesn't help. So i decided to use my Submariner but again after i think a day or two, it also completely stopped. In the other forum that i have posted this matter, i've been advised by well meaning enthusiasts to send it to the experts and that's what i'm about to do. However, i'm posting it here because i'm very curious why this happened, i have other Rolex and i never experienced this. Would anybody be able to enlighten me?

Having also responded to your original thread, my only guess is, given the age and 6 months of stagnant rest, the oils have misplaced.
I'm sure one of the Forums will have a more conclusive diagnosis for you soon!

Sounds like they are both due for a service - are you sending to Rolex or to someone else?

Thanks for the concern, i have highly considered your advise in the other thread, perhaps i was just too impatient to know the problem before the Rolex Service Center gives me their diagnosis.

Thanks for the concern, given the risks of the repair, i must send it to Rolex.

The curious statement here is "I put it in a watchwinder and start using it". Also that you have two watches that suddenly develop the same symptom..

A watchwinder will not wind your watch.. You must manually wind your watch fully first.. Are you doing this ??

Thank you for your questions. I got everything wrong, i had the presumption the "watchwinder" winds my watch so i just put it there expecting the watch winder to do it job. Anyway, i got my Submariner yesterday from RSC and the problem was a broken mainspring. When i asked how it happened the technician asked me in return how long i have the watch. My watch is about seven years old but i rarely use it because i have other Rolex. Anyway, i'm bringing my Daytona to the RSC and will make sure, i rewind my Submariner before i put it in the watchwinder. Thanks for your kind advise, i'll keep this in mind. Have a good day!

40 turns will fully wind it, then the winder will maintain it at 650-700 TPD

Thank you for your very kind concern and advise, i appreciate it. I've been using watchwinders for almost two decades and i never even knew that was how to use it.

Hi! I hope everybody is doing well and that your tasks are all being met with success. Just an update from my last posting. The RSC here in Vancouver does not work on a Daytona, and i was advised by another knowledgeable source that there's nothing wrong with my watch, oil has just tickened and it would save me money to just keep on using it and rewind it because it is running. It's true that it is running but it always stops when the "second" hand reaches "11:55 to 12." It starts to move when i adjust the time. I've patiently tried using it for almost two weeks and i feel foolish wearing a Rolex that always stops. I really have to bring this to another RSC but i would appreciate it if somebody has this kind of experience and can enlighten me.

Thank you for your interest in my problem, i appreciate it. Actually i learned about the RSC in Hotel Vancouver from the forum and they work on any Rolex except for Daytona which they have to send to Toronto.

Just finished a 4130 calibre Daytona + 1.5.seconds a day 6 positions Send it on down you won't be dissappointed. Rikki

Yes prior to wearing you must charge the mainspring then the auto device will keep it wound as long as you are reasonably active. Rikki
