pics of dssd on 8" wrist needed.....
hey guys, new here. ive been lurking for a little while. im active on a couple other watch forums. i was wondering if i could get a little help. im thinking about purchasing a dssd. im just on the fence a little bit with the diam size. i have 8" wrist, so imho smaller watches dont look right on me. (thats why i sold my omega smp)i generally like larger diam watches such as the breitling super avenger. on that note. i can appreciate the "understated" look of the dssd compared to the full bling super avenger. i have tried on a dssd before, but it was so long ago i cant really remember what it looked like. so i was hoping someone could give me some shots of a dssd on an 8" wrist.
anyway, i love the forum, and thanks for any pics/info. thanks |

I find it's always better to try a watch on myself if trying to determine if I'll like it. Even though you've tried a DSSD before I would suggest seeking one out again. You'll never know for sure until it's on your wrist...

My dad has a 8.2" wrist, and I tried to get him to try the DSSD on, but he liked the 44mm YM II TT better!

I had the exact same thinking as you, as most smaller diameter watches didn't look that good on me, imo (7.9" wrist). I went into the AD fully sold on the DSSD. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I tried on the Sub and GMT ceramic models. The larger bezels really wear much bigger and they felt MUCH better on my wrist. Now, I already have a Panerai so maybe I was swayed with the lighter weight of the GMT and Sub. I hope to get one of these soon. The DSSD was really, really nice but the bracelet size and the top heaviness of it turned me off.

yeah, after looking at the dssd info thread it looks like its really a 43mm?
its pushing it for me to go that "small". lol. but i love the watch. i also love the breitling SA, BUT im not so sure i want the "all in" full bling all the time. sometimes its better to not have your expensive watch noticed or draw attention from 15ft away. lol. ill probably end up getting both one day, but the wife would kill me if i bought both at the same time. lol especially considering the price of the dssd. i am in no means saying the dssd doesnt look expensive, its just not as flashy to the untrained eye i guess, thats why i really like it as well |

Forget pics. I'd go to a shop and try one on in person to see how you like it on you. Doesn't matter your wrist size. It matters how it feels on you. I know people who have 6.5" wrist who love it, and people who have 7.75" wrist size or greater who feel like it is too big. You have to try it on and see how it feels for yourself. Good luck.

oh, im def. gonna go try one on again before i pull the pin. i just wanted to see some shots, get some input that might sway me.
also, im not trying to hijack my own thread but what is msrp on a dssd? ive been seeing what they are selling around LNIB or NIB condition on the forums and been hunting on watchrecon. unfortunately i dont know what "real world" pricing buying from an AD will cost so i can compare "used" watches with. if its taboo to post what someone might pay with discounts (if any) please pm me? im not even sure if AD'S discount rolex or not, like other brands..... |

Man I wish I had a big wrist like you! (note: I said wrist).
I think most watches will look small on you, unless you rock the 60mm Panerai Egiziano. The DSSD will look small on your wrist. I have a skinny 6.5" wrist and my DSSD is just right: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1336696324.697464.jpg I absolutely love the DSSD and give it the double thumbs up, but is the Omega Planet Ocean 8500 or 9300 on your radar as well? At 45.5mm these may suit you better, size-wise. Their co-axial movements are amazing and they look great too. --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?h4ytbu |

HOW: yeah I like the planet oceans, I actually had an omega smp coaxial "bond" watch that seemed ok for a while until I really started to realize how good the bigger watches looked on me. I might consider one, but I was looking for something a little more "special".

- JLC Master Compressor Diving Chrono - IWC Aquatimer Chrono (the in-house movement red gold version) - Hublot King Power All the mentioned watches suffer a huge depreciation after you remove the stickers, so make sure to go pre-loved

I love hublot's but even used most of the king powers are more $$ than I want to spend...
BUT I am really interested in the JLC master compressor chronos! I've known about them but never really have them a thought. On the used market they seem to be right at the price point, even with alarm |

My wrist is 6.5 inches. I had one link removed on my DSSD, as I don't like a watch that "flips" all over, as the one poster above appears to. The watch is so comfortable and just a great looking brute. I know I couldn't go for a small diameter anymore. I've been spoiled. It has presence and character. The watch retails for $10,650, but I purchased mine BNIB from Mosco(Greg) for a hell of a deal. Feel free to PM me if you would like to know more.
