Hello Everybody, i've noticed a few Aussie members of this forum, so though somebody might be able to help.
I've been looking around for a slightly used 16610 sub, and its clear that the majority of used Rolex watches are located in the large US market, meaning the watch that is perfect for "you",will be probably located in the States. I know there are a lot of sellers who won't ship outside CONUS due to the red tape that may or may not be involved, so my question is to anyone in Australia who has purchased a used Rolex from the US.
What extra costs (above purchase price) and/or processes are involved with purchasing from the states, and shipping to Australia? Is it straight forward, or a red-tape nightmare?

Mate where in OZ are you located? I ask because I know of a 2006 Sub 16610 for sale, nearly brand new, hardly new...

I have bought many Rolex from the US and elsewhere.

Some I've had to pay GST, some not. Sometimes red-tape, sometimes not.

It all depends on who you are dealing with.

I tend to find Aussie secondhand Rolex dealers are worse than AD's, oh, and never ever question their watches, OR ol' boy you'll be sorry.

Is it possible to purchase from an AD, direct from the US or elsewhere? Where the AD includes shipping to Aust?

Also can we bypass our taxes? or do we still get hit with the GSt when the package arrives at our doorstep?
