To those who are on the waiting list for the ss daytona...
how often do u call or go to your AD to check on the status? i was told i am the next in line so i am very excited. they sold their last one in april and i should get mine before the end of the year...but now i am nervous and worry that they would lost my phone number or sell it to some walkin guy who's willing to pay a premium for it...so now i go to my AD every 3 weeks or so to check. am i being too paranoid?

You never know how conscientious your dealer is....or the people he has working for him
I would stop in and call at least weekly until they got tired of me.....but they would know I was serious... |

I would be on top of it too. Stop by whenever you're in the area to check-in.
Good luck! |

They are your AD and you do business with them, so nothing wrong with stopping in or calling frequently.

No harm in dropping in (once a week, lol) to make sure they have your correct number.

How about throwing a brick through their window once a month until they are forthcoming with the 116520?

Yup - what waiting list! There isn't one in the UK in any AD. It's an urban myth - they just sell them straight to their biggest spenders. It's been like that for years - the "waiting list" is just an excuse. And a poor one at that.
So if you are on one outside of the UK I would definitely call every week. |

Welcome to TRF!
When I ordered my SS Daytona on the 26th. of April this year, my AD told me that he had JUST received one during Easter, but that it (of course) was sold. I persuaded him to let me have the NEXT SS Daytona coming in since I have bought a lot of Rolex watches from him before. I waited 5 months to get it on the 28th. of September. During that time, I called him one time each month just to show I meant business. As long as you ask politely and don't get him on his nerves, I guess it is alright calling in to check the status once in a while, but I would not do it every week. Good luck!

This is absolutely true. I've been learning alot about this over the past 3 months and I've found this to be the case with many ADs. |

I know that I have the next one that comes through the door. They know I will take white or black. I have told them that I would rather have white but I will take either one!!!!
They know how to get ahold of me so I dont bother calling!!!
