Chapter ring on the Sea-Dweller
I have seen the new chapter ring on TT subs, and on the new GMT IIC. Has anyone seen it on the SD yet? I would assume that if Rolex is placing the ring on the SD it would have started late in the Z series and in the M series. Thanks

Rich,
I saw the SUB DATE SS at my AD just a few days ago, and it had the CRB, but I doubt if the SD will get it any time soon. After all, the SD still is THE tool watch whereas the Sub Date comes in SS, TT, YG and with lots of dial choices which make it a dressier watch in some way.

When you mention chapter ring, are you meaning the etched RolexRolexRolex chapter ring?
The SD has a chapter ring, thankfully it's just not etched.

I guess the new chapter ring's ok, but I can live without it. My Z-series 16610 doesn't have it, and thats just fine by me. Simply too busy for a tool watch. I see you SD owners' point very well! Hope your fav stays that way!

I finally saw the inscribed chapter ring on a watch last week. You really have to look for it to see it.
I wouldn't mind if my SD had the inscription, but I certainly don't miss it. Not a big deal either way.

I haven't seen it on a 16610 yet, but I guess it's out there now. I'll have to start looking more closely.

I think leaving the "tooliest" watches alone would allow some of the line to maintain its integrity.
No ring and No center polished links. SD, SS Sub, Exp. |

I'm with you on no polished links for the SD (shudder!).

I always look out for the clear chapter ring on my SD under the light while at work just to enjoy the simplicity of a very fine watch. IMO i don't think the chapte rring branding is a sign of fine craftsmanship. Just my opinion.
