Another 'inherited' Sub on eBay
Hi all,
Add reads: "I am unsure of the authenticity of this watch as I inherited it from my granddad hense why the low start price." http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/300711572...84.m1423.l2649 Wrote to the seller and alerted them to selling a fake and their response: "I have clearly stated in my description that I was unsure if it was real or not so if people choose to buy it it is upto them. I have had everyone that has bid on it ask for more photos and I give them as much info on it as I can. I have also had 2 people look at it and they have placed bids after seeing it. I am being open and honest about it and at no point have I attempted to convince anyone it was genuine because I really have no idea. I inherited it and my grandfather (who I might add was a very wealthy man) is no longer around to ask it's history. I searched other rolex watches on here and they sell for upto 10000. I started my auction at $4.99 for this exact reason I do not know! And I could not ask anything more for an item I was unsure about. Thank-you for your opinions and your information but I will keep the watch listed and if people choose to buy this watch knowing I do not know if it is authentic then that is their choice. Thank you again Emily" I've reported it, but might needs some more of us to do so...lets get this POS removed |

And another response by the seller:
You make your judgment based on poor quality photos I have had people personally view the watch, hold it, look over it etc. And then place a bid straight away so no I am not happy to remove my listing based on one persons opinion who has never even seen the watch. The people who viewed it also seem to believe they could tell a fake right away too yet they seemed happy and like I said they bid on it. Thank you for you opinions but in this case they are not valid! POS! |

"I am unsure of the authenticity of this watch.... "
Is enough for Ebay to remove the listing . Ebay policy requires that you are 100% sure of the authenticity . Pointless of the seller to complain that it has been removed . |

And in revenge for my reporting, the seller has reported a Montblanc sport chrono that I have for sale as being a fake...and then wrote to me in eBay bragging that had done so...spare me, what an idiot!

I would think that if you inherited a watch from your grandfather, who was a "wealthy man" and you had no idea of its value, you would take the watch to a reputable Rolex dealer and see what they say.
But, I did get a kick out of her starting bid of $4.99 |
