Icon7 How do I explain this to my Wife

Must confess. my name is lawrence and I am a watchaholic.
I went to see a Tag Heuer Autavia at my local watch dealer. If you had asked me if i would ever own or even consider a Tag it would've been a definitive no.
To date i have been strictly a Rolex guy (with a tudor tiger in there for good measure).
When he brought it out my immeadiate response was "hey thats ultra cool"
Then when trying it on, the band was exactly my size and it felt a million dollars when i put it on.
Bottom line I now own another watch.
problem now is how do I explain this to my Wife.

the watch looks a bit retro so I would go with...'what this old thing? had it since before we got married. Just got it polished and serviced'.

otherwise be a wus (not a wis) and go buy her a watch also (trick is it has to cost more than yours).

Hi Alex

i've used that one before and it cost me my beautiful white face Roman numeral Air King.
Was like chopping off my thumb to save my hand. got a Sub out of it though.
She wont fall for the "I got you a watch as well trick"'
May need to man up and confess upfront....

I've used the sock drawer explanation before!

You can do what I did. Go to Coach and get a nice purse and inside the purse the matching wallet and inside that your watch. "How did that get in there?! And it fits! How do you like what I got you honey?"

Lawrence, you need to post a pic of this watch before you tell the other half. I've learnt from experience to get permission before the purchase. Saves a lot of hassle.

Good luck, Jules.

Don't even bring it up....just casually start wearing it in the rotation...that's what I always did when I wanted to avoid heat.

Tell her a nice chap named Adam from TRF bought you it as a gift, and then she'll be like that was nice! And you can buy me a 16610!

Was it the original Autavia or the reissue? I remember reading something about TAG's problems with the reissue at some point. Sure is a cool looking watch.

Been away. It's the reissue I haven't got it yet as soon as I do I'll post pics.
Some great "outs" from kindred spirits. Long live the love of watches.
