1952 Oysterdate Precision?
Hey guys, I was given this watch by my dad a few weeks ago and I was told that its from 1952. My dad got it in a vintage watch store over 20 years ago. The leather strap has been replaced once.
I wish to keep this watch for my future son (or daughter) so is it advised to be worn everyday? My dad hardly wore it when he owned this watch. Im quite new to this so i'd appreciate it if there is anything important i should know about this watch or rolex watches in general. Also just out of interest how much is it roughly worth? Thanks for your attention, here are the pics :P : |

Congrats, nice to have something to pass down.
I'd wear it as that would increase the value for the next generation to enjoy. Not sure of the value but I'm sure a knowledgable member will chime in. dP

That is one very nice Rolex
It looks like a ref 6294 model. Later Oysterdates (ref 6694) go for around are quite common but yours an earlier reference so could be more collectable. Not only that, it has an uncommon roulette date wheel which could add more value. It does look as though the hands have been replaced, the lume re applied on the dial, or even the dial exchanged for a service replacement. This could reduce it's desirability to collectors. Even so, it's a very very nice early Oysterdate. Andy
