Purchasing a 666 and questions about RUSA NYC

Hello All,
I have decided to go ahead and purchase a SD 16660 later this week. I will be in NYC and although the seller is reputable and I am 99% confident that I am getting what he advertised, I was thinking that I might go over to Rolex in NYC and have them check it out. Do they do that sort of thing? I just I would just want them to pull off the back and ensure that it looks "correct". Has anyone done this before? Is this helpful? Maybe it's not worth it, but figured I would ask the experts here. I plan on giving them a call after I hear back from all of your if you think it's worth it. Thanks in advance all!

They are far from vintage experts from what I have heard and will either charge $150 for the inspection or require you to leave the watch for the inspection. Plus, they'll have no idea about original dials, hands, etc....

If you 100% trust the the seller, save the money IMHO....

You bought it from Jedly1. If he's not trustworthy, then no one in the hobby is. Don't make a needless donation to the NY RSC. Save it for a proper service with them down the road.

Whoops, just realized that I got the OP confused with another TRFer that was buying a Triple 6. My apologies.

And I don't think the Triple 6 is far enough along that RSCs here won't service them. Just need to give them explicit, written instructions about what they aren't allowed to change or polish........

Just take it to RSC NYC and ask them for a service estimate. If the watch is real, you'll get one. If not, they'll tell you. You'll need to wait about an hour or so. And you don't need to go ahead with the service, of course. I think the $150 "consultation" fee is for older Rolexes, but ya never know. Good luck!
